Postcards are not meant to stay in their place of origin. In fact, they are made to travel and to give a glimpse into the landscapes from which they came – often accompanied by a personal message from a friend. But sometimes postcards come back to their hometowns and when they do, memories and stories of change gather around the old pictures. “Dear Frankfurt” tells the story of these postcards which came back to Frankfurt (Oder) with a collector and three locals engaged with the old pictures to share their intimate memories.
