Ein FutureLab – was ist das eigentlich?

Ein offener Ort, draußen, mitten in der Stadt, wo man sich treffen kann, um gemeinsam Musik zu machen, den Kochlöffel zu schwingen oder über die Zukunft der schönsten Doppelstadt der Welt nachzudenken. Und dabei voneinander, in und mit der Stadt zu lernen. Ein Raum für ein offenes Miteinander zwischen Nachbarn und Nachbarinnen, die sich teilweise gar nicht kennen.

Im Rahmen der urbanen Intervention wird auf das UNESCO-Konzept der “Learning City” eingegangen, das Lernen als eine ständige gesamtgesellschaftliche Aufgabe sieht, die über Berufsqualifikationen hinausgeht und Konzepte des lebenslangen Lernens umfasst. Somit wollen wir Fragen stellen: Wer kann was von wem lernen? Wie kann Lernen und soziales Engagement zusammengedacht werden? Welche Rolle können Universitäten in der Lernenden Stadt übernehmen?

Dazu soll mithilfe einer urbanen Intervention ein öffentlicher Lernraum geschaffen werden, der verschiedene Zielgruppen ansprechen soll. In Kooperation mit zivilgesellschaftlichen und städtischen Akteuren (u.a. Helfende Hände – Blaue Brücke e.V., Kukuryku, Kooperationszentrum Frankfurt (Oder) – Słubice) werden in den drei Wochen ab dem 14. August 2023 Formate gestaltet, um einen Ort zum Kennenlernen, Austausch, Entdecken von Filmen und Musik und natürlich zum Lernen zu bilden.

FutureLab – what’s that?
An open place, outdoors, in the middle of the city, where people can meet to make music together, swing the cooking spoon or discuss the future of the most beautiful twin-city of the world. And to learn from each other and with the city itself.
A space for an open exchange between neighbors, some of whom might not even know each other. Did you know you know, for instance, that Mr. Müller from house number 3 likes to strum his guitar and eat tofu?

The urban intervention will address the UNESCO concept of the “Learning City”, which sees learning as an ongoing task for society as a whole, going beyond vocational qualifications and encompassing concepts of lifelong learning. Thus, we want to ask questions: Who can learn what from whom? How can learning and social engagement be thought together? What role can universities play in the learning city?

For this purpose, a public learning space is to be created with the help of an urban intervention, which is to address different target groups. In cooperation with civil society and urban actors (including Helfende Hände – Blaue Brücke e.V., Kukuryku, Kooperationszentrum Frankfurt (Oder) – Słubice), formats will be designed in the three weeks starting August 14, 2023, to form a place for getting to know each other, exchanging ideas, discovering films and music, and of course learning.
